Privacy policy

DOF Simulation is an independent camera and lens learning tool published by Lumiverse. This page explains the information used by the simulator and its third-party services.
Simulator settings
Optical calculations run in your browser. The simulator stores preferences, a pinned setup, and your separate analytics and advertising choices in browser local storage. These records do not expire automatically and are not sent to an application server. We do not offer accounts, accept photo uploads, or maintain a database of saved shots. You can use every calculator feature without enabling Google Analytics.
Shared links include setup values in the URL, visible to anyone receiving the link. Requested URLs may also appear in browser history and hosting logs. Do not put personal or sensitive information in a share link. Reset restores the default shot; you can remove all locally saved information through your browser’s site-data settings.
Optional Adsterra advertising
We offer a single Adsterra banner below the simulator tools. No Adsterra request is made until you enable the advertising checkbox in Privacy choices and save, and the placement enters view. Analytics consent alone never enables ads. The calculator remains available if you decline, block, or withdraw advertising.
When enabled, Adsterra and its advertising partners receive network and browser information, such as IP address, device details and referring site, and may use cookies or similar technologies for ad selection, measurement and fraud prevention. Third-party processing may take place outside your country. See Adsterra’s privacy policy for its practices and contact information. An advertisement is not our endorsement of its content.
Uncheck advertising and save, or select “No optional services,” to remove the ad frame and stop further ad requests from it. This cannot undo prior processing or delete third-party cookies; use your browser’s cookie settings for that. We retain Google AdSense verification metadata and its ads.txt record, but do not serve Google ads. These preference controls are not a Google-certified CMP.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics loads only after you select the Google Analytics checkbox and choose “Save choices.” If you choose “No optional services,” or have not made a choice, we do not load the Google Analytics script. The calculator works the same either way. This preference does not control Cloudflare Web Analytics, described below.
When enabled, Analytics may use first-party cookies and process page views, interactions, IP addresses, approximate location, and browser/device information to help us understand site usage. The initial page-view configuration excludes the query string containing shot settings. We disable Google signals and advertising personalization in the site configuration. Google processes data under its own terms; see Google’s privacy policy, how Google uses data from partner sites, and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Cloudflare hosting and performance data
Cloudflare delivers and protects the site. Hosting requests necessarily include network information such as your IP address, requested URL, time, and browser headers. Cloudflare may process operational and security logs under its service terms; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Cloudflare Web Analytics also loads a browser performance beacon on the public site and sends page-load timing and page URL data to Cloudflare through /cdn-cgi/rum. It runs even if you choose “No optional services,” and that button does not stop Cloudflare performance reports. Cloudflare describes this service as collecting performance metrics without tracking individual visitors across its customers’ sites; see its data collection documentation. A shared shot URL can contain camera and lens settings, so avoid placing personal information in a share link. This is separate from the optional Google Analytics described above.
External links
Manufacturer and Buy Me a Coffee links open external services only when you follow them. There is no embedded support-payment widget. Support payments are handled on the external service under its privacy policy; we do not collect payment-card information on this site.
Your choices
Use at any time. Turning Google Analytics off stops future Google Analytics requests from this page, removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site, and reloads without its script. It does not erase data already processed by Google or disable Cloudflare Web Analytics. You can also block or delete site storage in your browser, which resets saved preferences.
Contact
For a privacy question or request, email lumiversesoft@gmail.com. This opens your email application; nothing is sent until you send a message. A message you send includes your email address and whatever details you choose to provide. We use those details to respond to your request. Email is handled through Gmail under Google's privacy terms, separately from the calculator.
Your available privacy rights depend on your location and the relevant service. Contact us about access to or deletion of correspondence you have sent. Please do not send sensitive information, payment details or photographs of other people.
